The
Clay-Wood-Winds transverse flutes utilize the traditional six hole
fingering system for the cylindrical bore flute. Because of the
density of the clay, and the glazed surface of the flute bore, these
flutes produce a pure, glassy tonal quality. Each flute is individually
voiced and tuned to A-440 modern concert pitch. The musical range
of the CWW transverse flute is over two octaves with chromatics.
Notes above the first octave are produced by overblowing. Chromatics
are achieved by cross-fingering, or half-holing much the same as
a fife, tin whistle, or recorder. Each flute comes in a foam
lined carrying box, with a pair of clear Lucite display stands.
An instructional brochure is included.
